The Power of Saying "No"

The Power of Saying "No"

Here’s how to make the most of your no:

🧭 1. Know Your Boundaries

Start by getting clear on what you do want: your ideal schedule, client load, or type of work. Boundaries are easier to enforce when you know where they begin.

✋ 2. Practice Your “No” Scripts

You don’t need to over-explain. Try these scripts:

“Thanks for thinking of me, but I’m at capacity right now.”

“That’s not something I offer, but I’d be happy to refer you to someone who does.”

“To protect the quality of my work, I’m only taking on a limited number of projects this month.”

🔁 3. Don’t Say “Maybe” When You Mean “No”

Postponing a no only adds mental clutter. It’s kinder (to you and them) to give a clear answer sooner rather than later.

🔋 4. Remember: Every “No” Creates Space for a Better “Yes”

By saying no to things that drain your time or energy, you open the door to more aligned, fulfilling opportunities.

Here’s your permission slip to say no—and mean it.
